Building Access and Security Update
Read the notice and the reply below. Answer Questions 1 to 11.
Dear tenants,
As previously announced, the building is transitioning from key-fob access to a new mobile credential system starting November 15. This notice outlines what you need to do before that date, what will change on the day of transition, and how to get help if you encounter problems.
Between now and November 10, all tenants must download the SecureEntry mobile app and register their building access account using the unique setup code that has been emailed to your registered address. Setup codes are valid for 10 days from the date of this notice; if yours expires before you have set up the app, contact Facilities Management to receive a new one. Each tenant may register up to three mobile devices under their account.
On November 15, all existing key fobs will be deactivated. If you have not completed app setup by this date, you will not be able to enter the building independently. Emergency access will be available through the security desk in the main lobby, which will be staffed 24 hours a day during the first two weeks of the transition. After November 29, after-hours emergency access will revert to normal procedures.
Tenants who cannot use a smartphone due to disability or device incompatibility may request a legacy access card from Facilities Management. Legacy cards will function in the new system but must be applied for by November 8. No legacy cards will be issued after this date.
Please direct any technical questions about the app to the SecureEntry support line at 1-800-555-0199. Questions about account setup or legacy card requests should be directed to Facilities Management at extension 301.
Hello,
Thank you for the heads-up about the new [____1____] system. I have a few questions and concerns.
I tried to register using my setup code this morning, but the app said the code was [____2____] . I received the notice only three days ago, so I am confused about why it has already stopped working.
I also want to register my tablet in addition to my phone. The notice says I can register up to three [____3____] , so I assume this is permitted.
My colleague in Unit 18A does not own a smartphone and is not able to use one due to a visual [____4____] . Should she apply for a legacy access card?
Finally, could you confirm: if neither of us completes setup by November 15, will the [____5____] desk be able to let us in after hours?
